McKernan Edmonton Real Estate
The neighborhood of McKernan is located in southwest Edmonton. Until 1940, the neighborhood contained McKernan Lake, which was a favored picnic spot in the summer and ice skating area in the winter. The lake was drained in 1940, and development commenced, with the majority of construction happening between 1945-1965. The homes in McKernan are mostly single family homes and duplexes, and a large number of the original houses in the neighborhood are being replaced by infill. There’s one school in the neighborhood: McKernan School, and it offers both English and French immersion programs.
