The neighbourhood of Pleasantview is located in south west Edmonton. According to the 2001 federal census, 22.3% of Pleasantview homes were built between 1946 and 1960, and 46.9% were built during the 1960s. The remainder were built during the 1970s. Single-family homes make up 44% of all Pleasantview homes, with another 20% being high-rise apartments.
