The neighbourhood of Aldergrove is found in west Edmonton. Anthony Henday Drive runs along the neighbourhood’s west side, and Whitemud Drive runs along it’s south side, giving easy access to various areas of the city. More than half of the homes in Aldergrove were built in the 1970s – a total of 55.3%, according to the 2001 federal census. The remaining 38.3% were built during the 1980s. According to the 2005 municipal census, single-family homes are the most common type of home in the neighbourhood, making up 57% of homes in the neighbourhood. Another 23% are apartments, and the last 20% are are row houses. A total of 66% of homes are owner-occupied. The only school in the neighbourhood operates under the Edmonton Public School System and is called Aldergrove Elementary School.
