Historic St. Albert Real Estate
The oldest house in St. Albert is Juneau House, which is located at the corner of Mission Avenue and Madonna Street. It was built in the late 1890s by Frank Juneau. The most notable resident of Juneau House was Dr. Arthur Giroux, who was St. Albert’s first medical officer and mayor from the years 1913 to 1918. Dr. Arthur Giroux resided in the house from 1908 to 1938, and also ran his medical practice out of the house during that time. Dr. Giroux suddenly passed away in 1938, but his family continued to live in the house for another 5 years after his death. It is said that the house is haunted by the ghost of Dr. Arthur Giroux.
